Northern Tamil Association (NTA) is continuing its tradition of bringing Tamil community together with the annual
Deepavali celebrations.
However, with the COVID-19 pandemic, human interaction is very limited which might be the case for many months
to come.
So, we are doing a virtual (ZOOM) Deepavali celebrations (தீபாவளி கொண்டாட்டம்) this year on 31st October
2020 from 2 to 5 PM (BST).
As you know, we usually do a variety of cultural programmes (regional competition) with trophies for individuals and
the regions.
However, we couldn’t do them this year as per Government guidance.
Instead we will have a limited number of cultural performances via Zoom.
These cultural performances are non-competitive and can only be entered via the regional representatives.
However, to encourage other forms of talents, we will be conducting COVID-safe competitions.
The categories will be
a) Drawing
b) Photography
c) Tamil Poetry (கவிதை);
These competitions will be for both adults and children.
The link below details the rules and guidance as well as how to register for the competition categories.
It is a huge privilege to serve the Tamil community in UK.
NTA wholeheartedly thanks the Tamil Community for their unwavering support for our endeavours.
